One More Chance at Bellini's

Hello there! It's been a while since I posted, but as promised, I'll be telling you about a special restaurant this time. So it was my first time to go to the Cubao Expo for a project in school (I didn't even know such a place existed before, and of course, food will always be part of any adventure haha), and boy, it was really a hidden place with full of really interesting stuff! There isn't much light in the entrance which was why we missed it at first, and the place is alive around 4 to 7 pm, because that's the time that the different stores selling really unique one-of-a-kind clothes and shoes are all open. It's really like a village from a different time all on its own. Then we stumbled upon Bellini's, which my friend said was where John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo shot a scene in their movie One More Chance. Intriguing, huh? We thought so too haha that's why we ate there even if we already ate dinner!
Bellini's Ambiance

This is the exact table where John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo sat, according to the chef

Someone was even serenading when we ate there teehee =D First up was the complimentary bread sticks, then a little bit of pasta; afterwhich we worked our way through the dessert =))
Bread Sticks
Pasta
The pasta was really nice. It was not sweet like the Jollibee kind, but really Italian cooking, which is a little tangier due to the tomato; but at the same time, it was not too sour like the pasta I ate at another Italian restaurant. So I give this dish a thumbs up!

Dessert time! hahaha Sadly, we were just able to eat two though since we're already full even before we went here. We heard that this place is known for their panna cotta, and my friend really loves this dish; so of course, we ordered one... We were actually debating on ordering one or two hahaha
Panna Cotta
The panna cotta was really nice. Not too sweet, soft texture, and it's nice to know that this Italian dessert is made by a real Italian hahaha unlike when you order this in American establishments and you won't even know if the dessert is supposed to taste that way but it's pretty similar though =) Just a word of caution that desserts in general are fattening, and this dish specifically is made from heavy cream hahaha. we still finished it anyway; oh, the ironies of life.
Orange Cake
Now this dish is a funny one. It's an orange cake with caramelized sugar on top and orange shavings, and sure enough it has a distinct taste of orange to it. The funny thing about this is that we didn't know if the orange shaving is edible or not. I know that sometimes people really do put on shavings as garnishes, but if the shaving is as large as a quarter of an inch of an orange's peel... I'm not sure if we can eat it anymore. Then again, we still tried eating it hahahahah... it's hard to slice the peel with a fork though, maybe you need scissors, just kidding! =)) On the bright side, that part of an orange is full of vitamin C! =D

Overall, great ambiance, great service, and great food! and the prices are reasonable too =D
